Wx-Chase Mail List
This list is for the hard chore chaser/spotter who want to not only see their prey (a big hose!), but they want
to photograph it! Email listserv@po.uiuc.edu. Then in the
body of the message type:

Wx-Talk Mail List

This list is for general weather-related topics, special event notifications, job announcements, and administrative
messages. Lots of very well known and respected Meteorologist read and post on this one. If you want in-depth
weather discussions, this is the one for you. Email

The digest form of this list is recommended unless you check your mail a lot. This one can produce A LOT of mail!
Wx-storm Mail List
This list is a consolidation of several past Wx-**** lists: Wx-watch, Wx-wstat, Wx-swo, Wx-pcpn, and Wx-misc. The
set functions below chose which part of the list you want to toggle on. To subscribe, send e-mail to
listserv@po.uiuc.edu with the following in the text of the message:
sub wx-storm YourFirstName YourLastName
The new list utilizes a sub-topic keyword scheme similar to that used in Wx-tropl:

When you subscribe to Wx-storm you will receive *ALL* of these by default products. To select specific products
you need to include a "SET TOPICS" command with your subscribe command.
Wx-Tor Mail List
Tornado warnings from around the country as they happen. **WARNING: Do not rely upon postings to this list to
notify you to take cover from a storm in your area. The BITNET-Internet mail gateway here can run up to a couple
hours backlog during busy times, which means these warnings may arrive in your mailbox too late to save you. This
list is for statistics gathering and curiosity only. There is no substitute for your local NOAA radio or other
reliable, timely means of disseminating severe weather information. Email

Wx-lsr Mail List
Local Storm Reports issued by local WSOs and WSFOs. More detailed than the SELS log. Issued as needed. Email

Wx-tropl Mail List
Tropical weather outlooks, hurricane position reports, etc. This list will be most active from June through
December. Portions of these products may be in abbreviated (coded) format. Also available, the Tropical
Cyclone Weekly Summary is a near real-time description of world-wide tropical cyclone activity based on
reports from many tropical cyclone warning centers. It also includes information on the cyclones' effects
from weather reports and press information. The summary bridges the gap between the real-time advisories
and the post-season summaries issued by the warning centers.
WX-TROPL mailings are subdivided into Atlantic and Pacific regions. By default, new subscribers will receive
ALL bulletins. To receive specific bulletins, send the following message to
listserv@po.uiuc.edu. In the body of the message type:

set wx-tropl topics: atlantic
or
set wx-tropl topics: pacific
or
set wx-tropl topics: summary
Wx-natnl Mail List
Public products of national interest like the Selected Cities Forecast. Note: This list is not logged. Email

Wx-sum Mail List
National Weather Summary and National Flood Summary. Email

Wx-stlt Mail List
Satellite interpretive messages and orbital data. These messages give descriptions of cloud features and
disturbances observed by satellite. Products are issued by geographical region. Products are in abbreviated
(coded) format. Email
listserv@po.uiuc.edu. In the body of the message type:
sub wx-stlt Your Name
***Note: Abbreviated (coded) products contain word abbreviations and contractions. They can usually be deciphered
by looking at sentence context. Airport location identifiers are also used. For example, NYC is New York City,
NY and STL is St. Louis, MO. Decoding software is available via ftp at po.uiuc.edu cd /wx.
Ham-Wx Mail List
This mailing list reflector is for the discussion of ways to integrate ham radio with the ne.weather newsgroup
and mailing list for the distribution of weather observations.Various methods include ARPS, voice, and packet.
