Info Regarding MSW and Classes and Corona Virus…

 UPDATE 3/21/2020:

The Board of Directors voted this evening to follow suit with the NWS and postpone all classes through April 30.
Classes being postponed are:
· 3/25 Maple Grove
· 3/28 Bloomington
· 4/2 Richfield
· 4/8 Ridgedale
· 4/18 Maplewood
· 4/25 Burnsville
· 4/25 Cottage Grove
· 4/29 Roseville
We will attempt to re-schedule some of our classes this year. If that is an option, we will post on website, MSWInfo and Facebook.
You are still able to report through our nets and to the NWS this year if you have previously been trained as a spotter in the last 2 years.
Thank you for your patience as we all adapt to this together. Stay safe!

The board met last Saturday on a conference call and determined that virtual webinars pose issues that the trainers cannot overcome, and we will NOT be holding virtual webinars for training. UPDATE on this:

*** Online training session coming soon! ***

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and guidelines from the CDC about social distancing, the NWS has announced they are working on a 1 – 1.5 hour long online training session for those who need training this year or who would like a refresher. We have been told it should be ready in the next week or two. Some notes about the training:
· It is not a replacement for the normal 3-4 hour sessions we normally offer.
· It does not meet the criteria for a renewal.
· It is meant as a refresher to those who have attended training in the past.

We will do our best to reschedule some sessions this summer, but this depends on how the situation develops.

Spotters that have registrations that expire 2020 that cannot attend a planned re-established training session (these are TBD), can go to 2021  and remember that you do not report non-rotating wall clouds.
